Why Another Tea Company
Avani Tea was created to bring fragrant, plastic-free tea directly from the people who grow it to those who care about what they sip.
Most tea today moves through long, opaque supply chains. It is traded at auction, shipped across continents, and stored in warehouses for months — sometimes years — before it ever reaches a cup. In that process, freshness is lost, origins are blurred, and the people who grow the tea are often disconnected from its final value.
We wanted to do things differently.
Instead of sourcing through layers of middlemen, we work directly with tea estates committed to regenerative organic agriculture.
This approach shortens the supply chain, preserves freshness, and allows us to build long-term relationships with growers who are investing in the health of their land and communities.
Nutrient-rich food begins with healthy soil.
Regenerative organic agriculture focuses on restoring and maintaining soil health, encouraging biodiversity, and working with natural systems rather than against them. While these principles may sound simple, much of modern agriculture has moved away from them in pursuit of scale and efficiency.
For many tea-growing regions in India, the consequences are no longer theoretical. Climate change is already reshaping growing conditions. For a tea worker standing on the slope of a hillside, soil health is not an abstract concept — it is the ground beneath her feet.
The regenerative estates and herb farms we work with focus on a few core principles:
Building and maintaining organic soil matter
Encouraging biodiversity to support balanced ecosystems
Using natural forms of pest control instead of chemical inputs
Creating composts, teas, and fertilizers on-site using waste materials
Managing water systems to withstand increasingly intense summers
Supporting projects that allow workers and their families to flourish
These practices are the cornerstone of the Regenerative Organic Certification. And thus, we turn to partners that have invested in this high standard in agriculture.
All our bulk offerings are packaged without plastic.
We know that more and more businesses are looking at their footprint, be it physical waste or more thoughtful sourcing. We want to help you achieve those sustainability targets.
All in all, tea is never just a product. It is land, labor, culture, and time — steeped together. Sip what matters.
